The Council of RTV Slovenia has unanimously dismissed the public broadcaster’s acting general director Andrej Grah Whatmough.
At the same time, reports N1, it has appointed Zvezdan Martic as his successor.
However, in a response on Twitter, Whatmough called his dismissal illegal, adding that the reasons were fabricated and the Council did not have the authority. He also said that according to the law he had the right to continue in the post until a new administration is appointed.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Martic was appointed the president of RTL Slovenia’s board last month.
Grah’s initial appointment as head of RTV Slovenia in 2022 was ruled to be illegal by the Higher Labour and Social Court in Ljubljana earlier this year but he has managed to remain in post, albeit on an acting basis.
