Apple has topped 1 billion paid subscriptions for services including Apple Music and Apple TV+.
The Cupertino company posted quarterly revenue of $81.8 billion, down 1% year over year.
“We are happy to report that we had an all-time revenue record in Services during the June quarter, driven by over 1 billion paid subscriptions, and we saw continued strength in emerging markets thanks to robust sales of iPhone,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “From education to the environment, we are continuing to advance our values, while championing innovation that enriches the lives of our customers and leaves the world better than we found it.”
Although Cook described sales of the iPhone as robust, the majority of hardware product categories sold less this quarter than they did in the corresponding quarter in 2022. iPhone revenue was $39.67 billion, down 2%.
Apple doesn’t split out individual services, but in an investor call, Cook said Apple TV+ had itself set a quarterly revenue record. This is supported by Kantar, which marked Apple Original Ted Lasso as the most popular series on streaming services this quarter, even among Netflix subscribers.
