Warner Bros. Discovery lost 1.8 million global DTC subscribers to its streaming services in the second quarter.
As of the end of Q2 it had a total of 95.8 million, down from 97.6 million three months earlier but higher than the 92.2 million posted in Q2 2022. In the domestic (US and Canada) segment, the total fell from 55.3 million in Q1 to 54 million in Q2 this year (53.1 million in Q2 2022), while internationally the total fell from 42.3 million to 41.8 million (39.2 million in Q2 2022).
However, ARPU rose in the domestic segment, from $10.82 to $11.09, and internationally from $3.48 to $3.65.
Global ARPU rose from $7.48 in Q1 to $7.71 in Q2.
DTC revenues in Q2 amounted to $2,732 million, up 14% on a year earlier, ex-FX. Adjusted EBITDA was -$3 million, a $55 million year-on-year improvement.
