ProSiebenSat.1 has seen a significant fall in advertising revenue amid ongoing economic uncertainty in the DACH region.
Second quarter revenues collapsed from €1,043 million in the second quarter of 2022 to €868 million.
The TV advertising market continues to be impacted by consumer uncertainty, though the growth of digital & smart advertising revenues continued, driven in part by Joyn. The streaming service has just launched in Austria and CEO ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE Bert Habets says advertising revenues on the platform are already growing. “As expected, the second quarter was once again marked by a weak TV advertising market. This underscores once again how crucial it is for ProSiebenSat.1 to focus on our digital business.”
ProSiebenSat.1 expects an improved economic development in the second half of the year, with positive effects on the advertising market in the DACH region.
