Polsat takes over 4fun TV channels

July 24, 2023 11.51 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Poland’s Polsat Plus Group has become the majority shareholder of the companies which include the website and TV channels 4fun.tv, 4fun Kids and 4fun Dance.

As a result, the number of music channels in its portfolio has risen to 10. According to the group, which has provided no financial details of the transaction, Mateusz Gorecki will remain the president of both companies.

Stanislaw Janowski, president of Telewizja Polsat, said: “We treat the acquisition of shares in 4fun and Naekranie.pl as a long-term investment. We are convinced that thanks to our active support and commitment, the position and importance of both brands will grow dynamically”.

According to Press.pl, Digital Network, a company listed on NewConnect, owns 51% of sold shares in Naekranie.pl to Polsat Investments Limited for PLN9.2 million (€2.06 million ). The remaining shares in Naekranie.pl – according to data from the National Court Register – belong to Epicom Limited, the majority shareholder of Digital Network (formerly 4fun Media). In 2022, this company sold its subsidiary 4fun to its owner for PLN5.4 million.

In 2022, Naekranie.pl had PLN3.5 million in sales revenue (an increase of 5.9 %) and a net profit of PLN1.3 million (a decrease of 12.6%). In June 2023, the website was visited by 1.2 million internet users.

Meanwhile, 4fun.tv has been broadcasting since February 2004 and 4fun Dance, with Polish dance music, has been present on the market since the end of September 2011, having launched as TV Disco.

4fun Kids made its debut in September 2020.
