Virgin Media O2 boosts Wi-Fi guarantee to 30Mbps

July 21, 2023 11.00 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Virgin Media is now promising customers a minimum download speed of 30Mbps or they’ll receive a £100 refund.

The extended Wi-Fi guarantee is included at no extra cost in Gig 1 broadband and Volt bundles, or can be added to M50-M500 packages for £8 per month. Previously, the Wi-Fi guarantee was set at 20Mbps. The new higher limit is the UK’s fastest Wi-Fi guarantee of all major broadband providers.

Gareth Lister, Director of Connectivity at Virgin Media O2, said: “The sky really isn’t the limit at Virgin Media O2, which is why we’ve upgraded our speed promise at no extra cost so our customers can continue to enjoy the UK’s fastest Wi-Fi guarantee. We’re always looking at ways to improve the experience we deliver, and with a boosted Wi-Fi guarantee our customers can rest assured we’ve got them covered in every room.”

Virgin Media’s enhanced Wi-Fi guarantee is backed up by Plume’s mesh Wi-Fi Pods and Intelligent Wi-Fi service.
