Telefónica’s Movistar has enhanced its entertainment, fiction and sports television proposal by relaunching Movistar Plus+ .
As of August 1, the new offer will be available to miMovistar customers and the entire market, regardless of the operator, in OTT form.
According to Telefónica, the new programming covers a wide variety of exclusive and quality content including first-run films, series, the best sports competitions, documentaries, entertainment such as cartoons or music, and one LaLiga and one Champions League match each day.
It adds that the relaunch includes the incorporation of new channels, with the linear channel Movistar Plus+ (dial 7) as the axis of the new television offer and flagship channel that will concentrate the most relevant content of the platform. This will include all the new fiction, programmes such as La Resistencia, music, documentaries and key events from sports competitions such as the NBA, the ACB, tennis or rugby, in addition to the Movistar Plus+ League and Champions League matches.
On this flagship channel, four original thematic channels be offered: Cinema, Series, Music and Documentaries. Originals and a pop-up channel each month will also added to the offer, in addition to Vamos, Ellas Vamos, a 24-hour La Resistencia channel, regional channels and all the channels present on DTT.
Broadband TV News notes that Telefónica has been able to relaunch Movistar Plus+ following the end of regulatory restrictions imposed on the telco following the acquisition of the DTH platform DTS.
