Russia’s National Association of Television and Radio Broadcasters (NAT) has elected Alexei Malinin as its president for a term of four years.
He replaces Eduard Sagalaev, who was permanent president of the association since its foundation in August 1995 and died in May this year.
Commenting on his appointment, Malinin said: “First of all, I want to thank all my colleagues for their trust and support. It is a great honour and responsibility for me to continue the work of Eduard Mikhailovich Sagalaev, the founder and permanent leader of the NAT”.
Alexander Shirokikh, executive VP – general director of NAT, added: “I am very glad that the overwhelming majority of the Board of NAT and its members supported the candidacy of Alexei Malinin for the post of President of NAT! I am sure that Alexei Vesmirovich’s vast experience of work on both sides of the industry: in the civil service and in media holdings will help NAT get a new breath, together we will be able to continue to protect the interests of the industry, and we will also launch new projects designed to generally raise the level of Russian television”.
NAT is Russia’s largest largest professional non-profit association of broadcasters. It includes federal media holdings and TV channels, thematic TV channels and regional TV and radio companies among its member, with associate members including content providers, equipment suppliers and system integrators.
