United Group has provided an update on its subsidiary UGI Wholesale, which it launched two years ago.
In a statement published by Danas, itself owned by United Group, it said: “the headquarters of this new successful company is located in Greece, and it consists of wholesale and technical teams from all member companies of the United Group – Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia. In this short time, UGI Wholesale has successfully implemented many complex projects, thereby securing itself the position of a regional telecommunications leader in the field of data transmission, mobile and fixed telephony, roaming services and wholesale of voice services”.
The statement also said that UGI Wholesale, through Vivacom Bulgaria, has become an approved provider of telecommunications services for GÉANT, the European Research and Education Network.
The GÉANT network, co-funded by the European Union, provides an information ecosystem of infrastructure and services to advance research, education and innovation on a global scale. In support of GÉANT’s mission, UGI Wholesale took on and in a short time successfully implemented several international telecommunication projects, with the aim of connecting hubs from the GÉANT network with fibre-optics.
