Pathé Thuis launches Ziggo rental offer

Dutch cablenet Ziggo is expanding its rental film offer from 800 to more than 5,000 films.

It follows a new agreement with Pathé Thuis, which replaces the existing rental offer.

Customers can directly choose from the latest blockbusters such as Super Mario Bros. Movie and Avatar: The Way of Water, but also from well-known classics and everything in between.

Pathé Thuis has been directly integrated into the platform which is available to available to Ziggo TV customers with a Mediabox Next Mini, Next and XL.

Robin Kroes, executive director Consumer Market at VodafoneZiggo said: “We want to offer our customers the best TV experience in the easiest possible way, with access to their favorite titles. As far as we are concerned, a collaboration with Pathé Thuis cannot be missed. Thanks to this collaboration, our customers get easy and fast access to the latest films. This way they can create a cinema experience from their own living room.”

Pathé Thuis was launched in 2011 as the first movie on-demand service in the Netherlands.

Tim Schutte, Head of Business Development at Pathé Thuis: “We are pleased that with this collaboration we can also give Ziggo customers access to Pathé Thuis’s extensive film range. We add new cinema films to our service every week, some even a month after theatrical release. I look forward to our partnership with Ziggo to make the TV experience even more attractive together.

From 13 to 26 July more than 30 films, including the first nine Fast & Furious films, can be viewed at a discount. Customers can also register via Priority to enjoy a barbecue and the tenth Fast & Furious film: Fast X on the roof terrace at Pathé Leidsche Rijn in Utrecht on 9 August.
