Sky says its Sky Stream Puck, launched in 2022, is the most efficient way to connect to Sky and will contribute towards its target of being Net Zero by 2030.
The broadcaster has published its latest Impact Report, which details its contribution to the economy, environment and society. Sky says it is on track to be Net Zero across Scopes 1 and 2 by 2030.
Sky has designed and developed a new carbon accounting tool within its existing supply chain management software to help more accurately measure and forecast for the embodied carbon within our product supply chain. Among the actions taken is the introduction of a fleet of electric shuttle buses, which has resulted in the reduction of its carbon emissions by 272 tonnes. Sustainable materials are also being used in the construction of Sky Elstree.
In other areas, £500 million has been invested in original content with 200 Sky Originals seen on air during the year,
Sky News and the Italian Sky TG24 are available free of charge in 138 countries.
26 Digital Hubs have been opened to provide school pupils and older people access to the digital skills, while more than 16,000 students took part in Sky Up Academy Studios, giving them new skills, confidence and experience of a range of media careers.
