Ukraine’s StarLight Media has reportedly acquired the content library of Media Group Ukraine (MGU), which stopped broadcasting its TV channels in summer 2022.
According to Detektor Media>, the fee amounted to $5 million.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, the closure of the MGU channels came as a direct result of the Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov decision to withdraw his company SCM’s investment from the country’s media industry.
StarLight Media is one of the leading media groups in Ukraine. Its portfolio includes the TV channels STB, ICTV, ICTV2, New Channel, M1, M2 and OCE TV.
