Alfred Peza has been unanimously elected the new DG of the Albanian public broadcaster RTSH.
The decision is controversial as he is a former MP of the ruling socialist party and continued to hold positions in it after vacating the role in 2017.
The other candidates for the DG role at RTSH were Laureta Roshi, Enrik Mehmeti and Helidon Haliti, with the latter withdrawing his candidacy due to ill health.
Broadband TV News notes that in 2017 a Tirana court found Peza not guilty of hiding his assets.
