The Serbian incumbent Telekom Srbija plans to buy 100% of the telco Globaltel.
The news was given to NIN, and quoted by N1, by Telekom Srbija’s CEO Vladimir Lucic. Globaltel, whose consumer offer includes TV services, is currently majority (55%) owned by Zeljko Mitrovic’s Pink media group, with the remaining 45% held by Procescom. The latter is majority (51%) owned by Vojislav Krstic.
Lucic said that the price paid for Globatel would be €17 million, instead referring to it as a “trade secret”.
He also denied that the acquisition is compensation to the owner of Pink for the cancellation of reality show Zadruga at the request of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, or compensation to one of the co-owners of Globatel, Sava Terzic, due to the termination of the contract between the City of Belgrade and the company.
