Orange has begun to restructure the fixed-line business it acquired from Telekom Romania.
Ziarul Financiar reports that the process will affect the former Romtelecom and result in the loss of over 400 jobs.
It adds that it is being undertaken to “redress the company’s performance”, which has been affected by “the decrease in turnover, the number of clients and the volume of activity”.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, in November 2020 Greece’s OTE agreed to sell its 54% stake in Telekom Romania’s fixed line business to Orange Romania for €268 million.
The transaction was completed in October 2021.
