Zattoo is expanding its cooperation with Stadtwerke Konstanz, which only became a new customer in November 2022 for the joint development of the German network operator’s SeeConnect TV service.
With the next stage of the cooperation, Stadtwerke Konstanz now also obtains Dynamic Advertising Substitution (DAS) and, as one of the first network operators in Germany, a FAST Channel offer from Zattoo.
With the ad-financed, free streaming channels, the company can provide its customers with TV channels outside of subscriptions or bundled products. FAST Channels are financed by dynamically inserted advertising. Initially, Stadtwerke will distribute seven channels of this kind.
“The extended partnership with Stadtwerke Konstanz is a successful example of fast and effective collaboration between our customers, our content partners and Zattoo,” said Jörg Meyer, Chief Commercial Officer at Zattoo. “In the ongoing development of our TV-as-a-Service platform, we are focusing on new technologies that allow local providers to grow quickly and in a particularly customer-friendly way in highly competitive markets across Europe. This makes it possible for a smaller market player like Stadtwerke Konstanz to become one of the first IPTV providers in Germany with FAST Channels and DAS technology.”
Damian Lohmann, Senior Manager Partner Relations at German network operator association DNMG, said: “We are very pleased about the integration of FAST Channels and DAS in Stadtwerke Konstanz’s IPTV product from Zattoo. With both companies, we are united by years of successful cooperation in using innovative technologies in new high-quality entertainment products. This pioneering role will be enormously strengthened by the current step and will benefit all network operators organised in DNMG and their customers in future.”
Zattoo will present its current offering at German trade fair ANGA COM in Cologne from May 23 to 25, 2023 at its booth A11 in hall 7.
