RTVE Deploys LiveU’s IP Cloud Services to expand Linear and OTT video coverage

May 17, 2023 11.39 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE has chosen LiveU to enhance its content gathering and production efficiency. The broadcaster has acquired a significant number LiveU units to be deployed around the world.

LiveU’s IP bonding technology and cloud-based services were selected after a thorough evaluations and tender process. The project involved over 150 units, including LU800s, LU300Ss, and LU-Smart mobile applications.

Laura Llames, Country Manager for LiveU Spain, said: “We are delighted to have secured this important account in such a competitive environment, with the additional help and expertise of our partner, SDI. Our EcoSystem enables our customers to think and work differently, providing highly cost-effective and flexible ways of collecting and processing content. This, in turn, enhances the viewer experience, enabling the capture of more and varied news and sports from across the country and internationally.”

RTVE’s main national centres and regional centres across Spain are equipped with LiveU technology, allowing for improved news and sports coverage. LiveU’s local partner, Sinopsys Distribución Integral SAU (SDI), played a crucial role in the project’s success. Both companies continue to work closely with RTVE as the relationship evolves.
