IBC2023 is now open for registration, bringing together the global M&E content and technology community at the RAI Amsterdam from September 15 to 18, 2023.
With over 40,000 square metres of exhibition space already booked by companies, exceeding last year’s total of 37,000 square metres, IBC2023 is set to be a dynamic show. All 13 halls will be open, with Halls 3 and 4 re-opened, and Halls 5 and 12 extended to their maximum capacity.
Michael Crimp, Chief Executive of IBC said, “The momentum is building towards another vibrant IBC2023. IBC is the place where the media and entertainment sector convene to design and define the agenda for our industry. IBC enables content everywhere by bringing together buyers and sellers to deliver insights, make connections, and unlock opportunities.”
The show has attracted more than 70 new exhibitors, including LG Electronics, which is participating for the first time. Additionally, numerous East and Southeast Asian firms, particularly from China, have booked space, surpassing pre-pandemic 2019 figures. This growth has led to a doubling in the size of the Chinese pavilion and the introduction of a new South Korean pavilion.
Steve Connolly, Director at IBC, highlighted the expanding global scope of the event, saying, “We are seeing the global scope of IBC growing as exhibitors from Asia Pacific are coming to the show in full force this year. It really speaks to the true international nature of our event. The upshot is we are expecting a major boost in visitors from the APAC region.”
IBC2023 will offer a comprehensive content programme across four days, featuring keynote speakers, panels, masterclasses, demonstrations, and presentations focused on shifting business models, transformative technology, and people and purpose.
The expanded Hall 5 will house the dedicated Content Everywhere area, showcasing emerging technologies for multiplatform delivery, over-the-top (OTT) streaming, and content monetization. The two show floor theatres in Hall 5 will host a full schedule of presentations and panel sessions.
The Showcase Theatre in Hall 12 and the Innovation Stage in Hall 3 will feature leading technology providers and thought leaders addressing the latest industry developments, including cutting-edge technology that is driving industry changes. The Innovation Stage will also feature demonstrations from the Accelerator Media Innovation Programme, highlighting collaborative projects tackling real-world industry challenges. Hall 3 will be home to the Accelerator Zone.
The two-day paid-for IBC Conference, taking place on September 15th and 16th, will feature thought leaders discussing the key issues driving the M&E agenda. The conference offers a standard Delegate Pass and a new Premium Pass, providing access to additional content and exclusive networking in the Premium Lounge.
The free Visitor Pass will grant access to show floor sessions and the Changemakers program, scheduled for September 17th and 18th. The Changemakers sessions will focus on industry developments from a human perspective, spotlighting organizations and individuals driving change in areas such as equality, sustainability, and creativity.
IBC is owned by six industry organizations – IABM, IEEE, IET, Royal Television Society, SCTE, and SMPTE. The IBC Partnership Pavilion will provide visitors with an opportunity to learn more about the IBC owners.
