The organisation that runs Dutch top flight football has postponed a decision on the next round of TV rights.
At a meeting this week Eredivisie CV and the 18 premier league clubs said they would postpone the decision until 5 June.
This will give them more time to consider the two offers on the table, including the one from current rights holders ESPN.
Their position is under threat from a consortium of Dutch cable and phone providers Ziggo, KPN, Delta and T-Mobile. The group is offering guarantees of €180 million per year for ten years, and in addition a profit share.
The new offer from the Disney-owned channel would be around €168 million per year, with a term of ten years. The current contract runs until mid-2025.
