The Supervisory Board of A1 Telekom Austria Group has extended the contracts of Alejandro Plater and Thomas Arnoldner.
As of September 1, Plater will become chairman of the executive board, Arnoldner will become deputy chairman of the executive board. The A1 Group Management Board will then consist of two members in the future.
Commenting on the development, Arnoldner said: “The digital infrastructure is an essential economic factor and guarantees our competitiveness and prosperity in the future. I am pleased to be able to continue to actively shape the digital future and continue the growth course of the past five years. The A1 Group is on a financially solid ground and has halved its debt ratio since 2018, increased revenues to over EUR 5 billion and increased its annual result by 260%”.
Plater added: “I am proud of the successful transformation of recent years, which we as a company have achieved – thanks to the great performance of our employees. Regarding the financial turnaround, the company is well positioned to meet the challenges of the future. Together with the strong A1 team, I am confident that I will be able to continue the digitalization of the company and the development of new business areas”.
Both members of the executive board will be appointed for three years (including an option to extend for a further two years). The previous CFO Siegfried Mayrhofer already decided last year to leave the company when his management board contract expires at the end of this August.
Meanwhile, as of September 1, Sonja Wallner will take over the role of CFO in A1 Group in addition to her role as CFO of A1 Austria and will report directly to the new CEO Alejandro Plater.
Wallner has been with the company since 2000 and has been CFO of A1 Austria since 2015.
