The Czech regulator RRTV has granted the Prague-based company Perinvest a 12-year licence to operate a new sports channel.
Known as A11 Sport, it will be on air for between 15-24 hours daily and distributed terrestrially throughout the Czech Republic on Multiplex 23.
It will also be offered by DTH, cable and IPTV operators.
A11 Sport will be a joint venture between Perinvest and the media group A11 and is expected to launch this autumn.
Broadband TV News notes that last week A11 also launched a national TV channel of the same name.
