Estonian terrestrial TV viewers will have free access to content in different languages for at least the next three years.
Speaking in a note on LinkedIn, Indrek Lepp, EVP media services at Levira, said that this follows extensions to FTA broadcast contacts that the company has reached with a number of stations. Besides the Estonian public broadcaster ERR, they include US AGM for Current Time and Poland’s TVP for TVP World.
He adds that this is particularly important in the context of the decline in the number of terrestrial TV viewers over the last year.
Terrestrial FTA TV is the most environmentally friendly and resilient solution to make linear television available for everybody free of charge.
In addition, DTT is also crucially important in crisis communication.
