Russia’s VOD sector was worth R67.8 billion (€771.7 million) in 2022, or 17% more than a year earlier.
According to ComNews, the market leader was Kinopoisk, which saw its revenues more than double (112.9%) from R7.2 billion to R15.2 billion. Although its losses amounted to R3.9 billion, this was 13% less than in 2021.
Meanwhile, second placed ivi saw its revenues increase by 7.7%, from R11.8 billion to R12.7 billion. At the same time, its losses fell to R693.7 million.
Rostelecom’s Wink was in third place, with its revenues estimated to be around R7.7 billion, and fourth placed Okko has revenues of some R6 billion, up 14% on a year earlier.
Russia’s VOD sector is expected to continue growing this year, at a similar if not higher rate.
