Amazon expands Freevee FAST platform

May 4, 2023 12.58 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Amazon has announced the availability of over 100 Amazon Originals from Prime Video on its Freevee advertising supported FAST platform.

The streamer says that more than 50 movies and TV series – including Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, The Grand Tour, Mozart in the Jungle, Bosch, Modern Love, Savage X Fenty, Sylvie’s Love, Troop Zero, and Late Night – are currently streaming on Freevee, with additional titles being added each month.

Amazon is working with windows within its ad-supported service to promote the premium platform.

Later this year, Freevee viewers will also be able to stream of the entire first season of Amazon Original Reacher as well as the full first season of The Wheel of Time, prior to its second season premiere this year on Prime Video.

In the UK, A+E Networks EMEA is producing three curated channels: Inside Crime,Mystery TV, and World War TV wit content drawn from its library.

Julie Mitchelmore, VP of Digital at A+E Networks EMEA, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be bringing our slate of top-quality content to Amazon Freevee. The growth of true crime, mystery programming, and world war documentaries continues to go from strength to strength. This launch allows A+E Networks EMEA’s unmatched content to be shared with a huge new audience, and we are committed to making it easily accessible anytime, anywhere.”

The launch of these FAST channels on Amazon Freevee reinforces A+E Networks EMEA’s strategy to distribute its content onto new platforms.
