Russia’s largest mobile operator MTS has completed of the third and final stage of its acquisition of Zelenaya Tochka Group’s assets.
By exercising its option, MTS bought out the remaining 49% stake in six local fixed-line internet providers in Belgorod, Lipetsk, Ufa, Neftekamsk, Beloretsk, Tomsk and Vladivostok.
In February 2020, as part of the first stage of the transaction, MTS acquired a 51% stake in all 13 of Zelenaya Tochka Group’s fixed-line operators in 12 cities across Russia. In April 2021, during the second stage, MTS bought the remaining 49% stake in seven Zelenaya Tochka Group fixed-line operators. Now, with the completion of the last stage of the deal, MTS has scured full ownership of all 13 of Zelenaya Tochka Group’s regional assets.
Broadband TV News notes that MTS’s interests include pay-TV operations in Moscow and other parts of Russia, as well as the OTT streaming platform Kion.
