The Portuguese operator NOS saw its profit dip by 15.1% year-on-year to €34.9 million in the first quarter, partly as a result of significant investment in 5G.
As of the end of Q1, the company’s 5G network covered 88% of the population, with 3,441 base stations reinforcing its market leadership in the technology.
NOS ended the first quarter with 1,665,000 TV subscribers, or 1.1% more than a year earlier. Its RGU total was 4.6% higher at 10,871,700.
The company’s consolidated revenues and EDITDA in Q1 amounted to €381.4 million (+2.2%) and €173.5 million (+8.8%) respectively.
