The number of subscribers increased by 140% over the same period to 2,905,000, with Poland and the Netherlands being the main drivers for growth.

Viaplay’s net sales in Q1 amounted to SEK4,537 million, compared to SEK3,324 million a year earlier. Its net loss of -SEK288 million contrasted with a profit of SEK483 million in Q1 2022.

In his comments on the results, Viaplay’s president and CEO Anders Jensen said: “We are growing in line with our expectations to reach the target of 4 million (international) subscribers by end of the year. We also added 113,000 Viaplay subscribers in the Nordics in Q1, which is line with our ambition to add 400,000 new subscribers in 2023 and reach our year-end target of 5 million subscribers”.
