Romanian-owned Digi has achieved another milestone in Spain, one of the West European markets it has turned its attention to following the sale of its assets in Hungary to 4iG in 2022.
El Economista reports that the company exceeded 4 million mobile customers in the Iberian country at the end of March, with the total growing by 24% in the past year.
Meanwhile, its fibre network already reaches 6.5 million homes nationally, with over 5 million able to receive services of up to 10 Gbps. Indeed, Digi is the first operator in Spain to offer such high download speeds.
Digi has also hired over 250 professionals so far this year in Spain, bringing its workforce total to 6,250. In addition, it now has over 4,000 points of sale.
Digi’s main interests lie in Romania, where its operator RCS&RDS is the country’s leading cable operator.
It also has a presence in Belgium, Italy and Portugal.
