Jan Mojto’s Beta Film acquires stake in High View

April 12, 2023 10.07 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German film and TV production group Beta Film is acquiring a stake German media company High View.

Beta Film and AT Media Holding will each hold 50% of the shares in High View, while High View Holding will leave the company as a shareholder. German anti-media concentration commission KEK approved the transaction at its latest meeting in Berlin.

Beta Film GmbH, founded by film producer and rights distributor Jan Mojto, mainly finances and distributes fictional content for the global market. The company’s portfolio includes stakes in more than 30 production companies in Europe, as well as in film rights distributor Beta Cinema and in Autentic Distribution, specialised in the distribution of documentary and factual content. Beta Film also holds an indirect participation in the operator of the pay-TV channels Spiegel Geschichte and Curiosity Channel powered by Spiegel.

High View GmbH and its subsidiaries Just Music Fernsehbetriebs GmbH, HV Fernsehbetriebs GmbH and Channel Factory GmbH operate a large number of TV channels, including Deluxe Music, Gute Laune TV and Bergblick. AT Media Holding GmbH operates TV channels also offered in Germany on the basis of Austrian broadcast licenses. The company is controlled by Alexander Trauttmansdorff, founder of the High View group.
