Turkish telecom companies had combined revenues of TL139 billion (€6.63 billion) in 2022.
This, according to Hurriyet, quoting a report by the country’s Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), was 40.7% more than in the previous year. It adds that in Q4 alone, revenues amounted to TL40 billion.
Turkish telecom companies invested TL31 billion in 2022, or 42.7% more than a year earlier.
All told, there were 464 operators in Turkey’s electronic communications industry in 2022. The number of broadband internet subscribers increased by 2.5 million during the year to reach 90.6 million. Of these, the majority (71.7 million) were mobile users.
Meanwhile, fibre internet infrastructure grew by 9.9% to 517,000km, while the number of fibre internet subscribers increased by almost 18% to 5.7 million.
