Media Press launches Turkish operation

March 28, 2023 16.58 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Media Press is expanding its operations in Turkey, with the formation of a new company based in Istanbul, which will be headed by Eylem Kehribar.

Media Press Turkey is now part of the group’s pan-European network, which employs teams of locally hired editors and engineers to prepare, collate and enrich EPG and streaming descriptions of programmes delivered to local and international clients.

Adding the Turkish market to the Media Press portfolio is a major and important step in the group’s development, and means that viewers will get even more TV metadata information in a format that makes it easier to search for familiar content and for new entertainment material.

It also means that the large numbers of Turkish residents in other European countries should soon see the same benefits as their national compatriots in their home country, as many satellite and terrestrial based broadcasters also provide channels for their Turkish diaspora audiences.

Magdalena Cechnicka, Media Press managing director, said: “We are delighted to be expanding into the Turkish market and are pleased to confirm that Eylem Kehribar is taking on the task of General Manager to oversee this venture.”

Eylem Kehribar is a media expert and entrepreneur who has worked on several innovative technology projects across Europe and Asia. She is passionate about creating personalised TV experiences for viewers around the world. She joins Media Press Turkey after working on EPG and business development projects with several international IT and entertainment related companies.

Eylem said: “This project helped to shape my interest in how we can make it easier for people to find out what is available to them, locally and globally. I’m extremely excited that now I will finally be able to realise my visions with Media Press – a major European metadata provider and technology partner for the world’s biggest brands.“
