Funding by streaming services in scripted content is more than a quarter of global investment in the genre, according to the Ampere Analysis.
The analyst says despite interest in non-scripted shows, scripted TV shows represent “the focal point of investment in original content” with $26 billion expected to be funnelled into the genre this year.

There has been recent interest in Unscripted, driven by the current demand for True Crime shows, while Netflix has also shown interest in social experiment and dating Reality titles such as The Circle and Love is Blind, as well as testing the appetite for live streaming among its subscriber base with live Comedy specials.
