New comms strategy for Russia

March 21, 2023 12.41 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Russia is planning to develop a strategy for its communications industry up until 2035.

According to ComNews, the government has to this effect formed working groups in a number of areas including fixed and mobile communications, satellite communications, telecom technologies, regulation, finance and information security.

The first session to discuss the strategy was held at the Government Coordinating Centre and attended by more than 300 people including industry experts, representatives of telecom operators, leading companies, state corporations and industry associations.

The Russian government is expected to develop and approve the strategy by the end of this year.
