Bulgaria’s Bulsatcom sees itself primarily as a satellite TV operator and plans to focus on such services in the future.
This, according to its CEO Petar Rizov, speaking to Capital, will be despite it having recently launched an IPTV platform named B-box and this currently being its best performing business.
He added that the internet is key to the delivery of multimedia content and Bulsatcom will also continue to focus om bundled services and the internet.
Rizov, who previously headed the Sofia-based internet and TV operator Net1, now owned by United Group’s Vivacom, also spoke about the need for shared infrastructure. In addition, he discussed Bulsacom’s plans to offer mobile services.
Significantly, he also said that selling Bulsatcom was not in his remit. His job is to get the company back on the market where it belongs.
