iliad’s Polish operator Play gained 1.5 million new customers in 2022 thanks to its record quick integration with UPC Polska, which the company acquired from Liberty Global.
Its mobile customer total grew by 8.7% year-on-year to over 17 million, while the total number of domestic customers exceeded 2 million thanks to the rapid growth of broadband and TV services from Play and UPC Polska.
Play had total revenues of PLN8.9 billion (€1.89 billion) in 2022, while its EBITDAaL was up by over 20% to PLN3.8 billion.
2022 saw Play acquire a majority stake in Redge Technologies, which is a leader in OTT and edge computing technology in the region.
Redge had revenues of €11.93 million and EDITDA of €4.59 million in 2022.
