Ocilion adds Bavarian local TV to IPTV platform

March 9, 2023 09.49 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Together with Bavarian media authority BLM, IPTV service provider Ocilion has integrated all 14 Bavarian local TV channels on its TV platform.

This allows Bavarian network operators to receive the local channels in HD quality including non-linear add-on features for redistribution. Additionally, the channel RTL is offered with all local windows. The service is available to Ocilion customers as well as to all Bavarian telecommunications companies interested in retransmitting the channels.

The implementation was realised by technical service provider Bayerische Medien Technik (bmt), which operates its own playout centre in Munich for the 14 Bavarian local TV channels. Following the completion of a successful trial in the town Rosenheim, the first network operators will start redistribution soon.

The 14 Bavarian local TV channels are allgäu.tv, a.tv, Franken Fernsehen, münchen.tv, niederbayernTV (Deggendorf-Straubing), niederbayernTV (Passau), niederbayernTV (Landshut), Oberpfalz TV (OTV), regioTV Schwaben, Regional Fernsehen Oberbayern, TV Ingolstadt, TVA Ostbayern, TV Mainfranken and TV Oberfranken (TVO).
