Yannick Bolloré Chairman of Vivendi’s Supervisory Board, said Canal Plus Group had “strengthened its position on the European continent and in Africa” after the pay-TV platform delivered revenues of €100 million in 2022.
Canal+ Group improved profitability, reaching €515 million in EBITA. Revenues of €5,870 million contributing to parent Vivendi’s annual income of €9,595 million. Vivendi itself posted a full-year loss of €1.01 billion, resulting from the deconsolidation of its Telecom Italia stake.
At the end of December 2022, Canal+ Group’s total subscriber base had reached 25.5 million, compared to 23.7 million at the end of December 2021.
The total subscriber base in mainland France recorded a net increase in subscribers of 457,000 over the past 12 months and reached 9.5 million subscribers.
The total subscriber portfolio outside mainland France stood at 16 million subscribers at the end of December 2022, an increase of 1.3 million.
Canal+ has extended its partnership with the French Motor Sports Federation for exclusive coverage of the French Rally Championship until 2025.
In Austria, the pay-TV streaming service has the rights to the first-pick game from the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening and the first-pick game of the UEFA Europa League or UEFA Europa Conference League in each match week starting from 2024.
