DAZN will launch a free, ad-supported streaming channel dedicated to women’s sports in Germany and Austria on March 16, 2023.
The FAST channel DAZN RISE will initially be available on Samsung TV Plus and waipu.tv, with other platforms such as LG and Cliq to follow.
The line-up will include live broadcasts and highlights, in football for example the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the French and Spanish first leagues, Division 1 Féminine and LaLiga Femenina, and from September 2023 the Women’s Bundesliga, as well as golf, handball, basketball, hockey and boxing. Documentaries will also be shown.
Upcoming UEFA Women’s Champions League games on DAZN RISE include FC Bayern Munich’s quarter-final matches against FC Arsenal on March 21 and 29 and Paris Saint-Germain against VfL Wolfsburg on March 22 and 30.
“We all rise with more eyes – this is the motto of our mission to put women’s sport in the spotlight and raise it to the level of men’s sport by increasing its visibility and appeal to a wider audience. The launch of DAZN RISE is the next step in our strategy,” said Alice Mascia, CEO of DAZN in the DACH region.
“This is something that is particularly close to my heart for many reasons: It gives women’s sports and athletes the visibility they deserve, offers fans, especially younger ones, a wider range of role models and, last but not least, fulfils DAZN’s mission to grow the sports business by developing new standards. The constantly growing audience and interest prove that we are on the right track.”
After DAZN FAST and DAZN FAST+, DAZN RISE will be DAZN’s third FAST channel in Germany and Austria.
