Warner Bros. Discovery ended Q4 2022 with a total of 96.1 million subscribers to its streaming services HBO, HBO Max and Discovery+.
This was 1.1 million more than three months earlier and 9.9 million more than in Q4 2021. In the domestic (US and Canada) segment it had 54.6 million subscribers, up from 53.6 million in Q3 2022 and 51.2 million in Q4 2021. Its ARPU rose from $10.66 in Q3 2022 to $10.83 at the end of last year.
Meanwhile, in the international segment, Warner Bros. Discovery ended Q4 2022 with 41.5 million subscribers. This was up from 41.4 million in Q3 2022 and 34.9 million in Q4 2021. ARPU rose from $3.68 in Q3 2022 to $3.71 at the end of last year. Global ARPU for Warner Bros. Discovery’s D2C streaming services rose from $7.52 in Q3 2022 to $7.58 at the end of last year.
D2C revenues in Q4 amounted to $2,451 million, up 6% ex-FX on a year earlier. Operating expenses were $2,668 million (-12%) and Adjusted EBITDA -$217 million, a $511 million year-on-year improvement.
