Greece’s OTE gained TV subscribers last year despite competitive challenges and piracy.
According to the incumbent, it ended 2022 with a total of 642,687, or 3% more than the same period a year earlier. However, it lost 1,089 TV subscribers in Q4 2022.
OTE saw strong growth in its fibre subscriber total (FTTx), adding 299,453 in the year to reach 1,448,224.
Having deployed its FTTH infrastructure to an additional 350,000 homes in 2022, OTE’s FTTH footprint reached 911,000 homes passed as of year-end. OTE plans to continue speeding up FTTH deployment to reach approximately 1.4 million homes by the end of 2023. Following record quarterly additions of 27,000, the total FTTH subscriber base reached 137,000. Total utilisation on homes passed by OTE’s infrastructure stood at 16% at year end, compared to 11% a year earlier.
OTE Group, which also has a presence in Romania, had total revenues of €3,455.3 million (+3.6%) in 2022. Its adjusted EBITDA (AL) was €1,348 million (+4%) and adjusted profit €540.7 million (+9.8%).
