The Hungarian incumbent Magyar Telekom saw the number of TV subscribers in its home market grow by 4.8% in 2022.
In its latest results, the company says it ended 2022 with a total of 1,378,608, up from 1,315,839 in December 2021. Meanwhile, its revenue from TV services in Hungary in Q4 2022 amounted to HUF14,182 million (€37.05 million), or 8.4% more than in the same period a year earlier. Blended TV ARPU in Q4 2022 was 2.8% higher at HUF3,455.
In North Macedonia, Magyar Telekom’s subsidiary end 2022 with 147,702 TV subscribers, a 1.2% increase on a year earlier. TV revenues in Q4 amounted to HUF1,470 million, up 3.3% on a year earlier.
Magyar Telekom notes that its TV revenues as a whole were up 7.9% year-on-year in Q4 thanks to further expansion of the IPTV subscriber base in both countries coupled with the positive impact of the targeted price increase measures in Hungary.
Magyar Telekom’s revenues in Q4 amounted to HUF199,203 million, up 3.6% on a year.
However, its EBITDA in Q4 was down by 3.4% year-on-year to HUF62,699 million and profit by 7% to HUF17,516 million.
