The Latvian incumbent Tet’s OTT service is now available on the VIDAA operating system powering Hisense smart TVs.
As a result, the solution is now available on all main platforms, including Tizen, iOS, Android, Apple TV and Android TV.
Commenting on the development, Inga Alika-Stroda, Head of TV and Entertainment business at Tet, said: “Our partnership with Hisense is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality video content to viewers on any platform they choose.
“Having our OTT platform available on Hisense’s operating system is a crucial step in engaging with an even broader audience. The ability to provide a seamless and convenient viewing experience to subscribers on multiple operating systems is of utmost importance to us, and we are thrilled to bring this opportunity to Hisense users”.
Tet launched its unique à la carte OTT platform in 2021, offering wide opportunities for personalised TV package and combining it with streaming services. The first Tet OTT streaming project was launched in 2016 and included a standard packaging solution with a predetermined package of the most popular TV channels, as well as standalone SVOD and TVOD services.
Since the platform was introduced in Latvia in 2021, 75% of new customers have chosen the Tet TV+ platform over other TV solutions, including IPTV and terrestrial TV.
The Tet TV+ platform allows simultaneous streaming on up to five devices (smart TVs, smartphones, and tablets) with the option to create five unique accounts offering the “keep watching” function. Tet TV+ combines TV channels, in-house digital content and third-party TVOD and SVOD content. The platform makes it possible to select channels, as well as add a subscription to streaming films and series.
In addition to OTT, Tet also offers other media services, including a self-service cloud video platform Videosher and global high performance CDN.
