Major AVOD partnership in Poland

February 14, 2023 09.59 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

TVN Warner Bros. Discovery has entered into a strategic partnership with Ringier Axel Springer Polska (RASP) and re-launched the latter’s VOD.pl.

VOD.pl is one of the longest established on demand platforms in Poland and will now operate as an AVOD service. At launch, it is providing over 8,000 hours of entertainment, including films, series and documentaries free of charge. Its offer will include content from such partners as Paramount Global, Grupa Kino Polska / SPI International and Red Bull TV.

Commenting on the development, Maciej Gozdowski, VP, head of streaming services at Warner Bros. Discovery in Poland, said: “From February 14, the free VOD.pl service joins the family of Warner Bros. Discovery streaming services in Poland and complements the paid digital offer of the group, which already includes HBO Max and Player. I am extremely happy that in such a short time we managed to communicate with the RASP group and develop a partnership model in which RASP will support us in building the largest AVOD platform in Poland. This is the beginning of a much broader cooperation with Onet, as well as with other partners, which will provide a new quality and scale for free legal access to quality content for users”.

Jovan Protic, COO Ringier Axel Springer Polska, added: We are pleased with this strategic cooperation, which combines the quality and reach of Onet with the excellent video offer of Warner Bros. discovery. This cooperation will give new life to VOD.pl”.

Dorota Zurkowska, group senior VP revenue w Warner Bros. Discovery in Poland, said: “The VOD.pl service gives the opportunity to reach an even wider group of users and perfectly complements the premium advertising offer represented by Player. With this platform, the Warner Bros. Discovery has the widest offer for advertisers in Poland. For the first time, marketers gain the ability to reach all users interested in video content and run their campaigns much wider and more effectively than before”.
