The Croatian operator Telemach has connected the city of Rijeka to its 10 giga fibre-optic network.
With this, it has completed the first wave of its investment cycle in the country’s large cities and now makes 10 giga services available to over 100,000 households in Zagreb, Split, Zadar, Osijek and Rijeka. According to the company, they can now enjoy internet speeds that residents of Singapore, New York and Geneva can boast of.
Commenting on the development, Danijela Bistricki Morovic, member of the management board and CTO at Telemach Croatia, said: “With a strong investment in one of the most advanced optical networks in the world, in the years ahead we will be able to offer our users services with the best user experience on the market. The fastest optical network brings the development potential to the entire community, which we want to enable to cities and towns throughout Croatia, so we continue to build it intensively, while providing users with the most technologically advanced services, with the best value for money”.
All told, Telemach Croatia has invested HRK1.7 billion (€226 million) on its fixed and mobile networks in the first five-year cycle.
