Samsung’s TV Plus streaming service may be about to appear on TVs outside the Samsung universe.
The consumer electronics giant is understood to have approached some of its competitors with a view to including the app as part of their smart TV offers.
Technology writer Janko Roettgers, who first broke the story, said he had learnt of multiple conversations. One such manufacturer is TCL, though both Samsung and TCL itself are not commenting on the issue.
Samsung TV Plus is based around FAST TV channels, many of them exclusive to the platform, though also including brands including the BBC, Chefclub and Clubbing TV among others.
Typically US consumers can receive around 200 channels within the TV Plus service.
