High View launches 4 Deluxe Music channels on Astra

January 26, 2023 09.06 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German media company High View will launch four new free-TV music channels under its Deluxe Music brand on Astra (19.2° East) on February 1, 2023.

For the DTH satellite distribution, High View and satellite operator SES have expanded their long-term partnership. Under a new multi-year agreement, High View is leasing additional satellite capacity on Astra.

Deluxe Dance by Kontor, Deluxe Flashback, Deluxe Rock and Deluxe Rap can be received unencrypted on the frequency 12.699 GHz V (SR 23.500, FEC 3/4). The channels are already available, broadcasting in SD resolution.

“The launch of the four new free-to-air music channels marks an important milestone in expanding High View’s music offerings to address the diverse musical tastes of our German audience. With the wide reach satellites can offer, SES and their Astra satellites are an essential and reliable partner for building our Deluxe Music brand and making sure we continue to deliver new content to our loyal viewers and listeners,” said Ulrike Unseld, responsible for sales and the music portfolio at High View.

Christoph Mühleib, Managing Director of SES Germany, added: “We are delighted to expand our partnership with High View with another multi-year contract to carry their new free-to-air suite of channels on our satellites. Without a doubt, Deluxe Music is one of the most popular and iconic music brands in Germany. With their four new channels, High View can leverage the 17 million TV household reach of our Astra satellites at 19.2° East to ensure their diverse and entertaining musical content is enjoyed by the widest audience possible.”

Deluxe Dance by Kontor shows current dance hits, club classics, party hits and dance pop as well as exclusive DJ sets. Deluxe Flashback looks back at the past four decades with a focus on the 90s and 00s. Deluxe Rap focuses on international hip-hop, German rap, oldschool, classics, R&B and soul. Deluxe Rock targets rock fans of all ages with classic and alternative rock, German rock, current rock songs and new trends.

Bavarian media authority BLM issued broadcast licences to the new channels and further thematic services in December 2022. High View now operates a total of 10 music channels. In addition to Deluxe Music and the four new sister channels, these are Schlager Deluxe, Jukebox, Gute Laune TV, Deluxe Lounge and just.classical.
