ISPs look to Wi-Fi 6

January 20, 2023 12.03 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

By 2026, 25% of people in developed countries will spend at least one hour per day in virtual shared spaces. This will be up from almost none in 2022, placing enormous pressure on home wi-fi networks.

However, according to a new White Paper sponsored by the Amazon company eero, and against the backdrop rapid adoption of smart home devices and permanent hybrid work models, Wi-Fi 6 is rapidly becoming part of the ISP toolbox to deliver the best quality of service and gain market share. Furthermore, Wi-Fi 6E is delivering even more wi-fi bandwidth, faster speeds and lower latency than Wi-Fi 6. This points to accelerated product adoption for Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, with 2.3 billion of the former and 350 million of the latter products having already entered the market in 2022.

In this context, eero for Service Providers offers an end to end solution of premium Wi-Fi 6 and 6E hardware powered by eero Insight software, eero Secure and the eero co-branded app. It gives ISPs the tools to improve operational efficiency at all job functions— from CIOs to customer care agents.
