Hellas Sat and Orange Romania together with Orange Romania Communications have entered into a multi-year agreement in order to complete the DTH merger of Orange Romania and Orange Romania Communications TV package and offers.
According to Hellas Sat, this will further enable Orange Romania Group to offer an integrated technical solution that translates into more benefits for all its customers, similar services, as well as a unified customer experience for both Orange Romania and Orange Romania Communications customers, aided by the extensive coverage of Hellas Sat.
It adds that the performance and availability of two Hellas Sat satellites that are at the same orbital position, together with a unique technical and commercial approach played an important role in winning the tender procedure. Thus, the partnership with Hellas Sat came as a natural choice for Orange Romania Group, as the company continues to focus on providing its customers high quality services with the goal to become the first choice for convergent services in Romania.
Hellas Sat also says that with this new partnership, it has become the first-choice orbital position for DTH and TV channels distribution in Romania. Furthermore, it reinforces the satellite operator’s leading position in South-East Europe.
Commenting on the agreement, Christodoulos Protopapas, CEO of Hellas Sat, said: “It is our honour to collaborate with Orange Romania and Orange Romania Communications, continuing and expanding our services in Romania. We are proud to partner with Orange Romania to offer its subscribers the best user experience in DTH, with enhanced services and technology. This new agreement clearly demonstrates Hellas Sat long-term commitment to operators and broadcasters, to serve Romania – and South-Eastern Europe countries in general – with one of the most powerful satellite systems in the region, reaching more than 1,5 million antennas pointing at 39 degrees East”.
