Ziggo Sport has acquired exclusive broadcasting rights for three years for all tournaments of the European DP Word Tour, including the Dutch Open (May 25-28).
All tournaments of the American PGA Tour will also be broadcast live. In addition, it will show the Asian Tour and women’s LPGA Tour. The icing on the cake will be the battle for the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome at the end of September.
The channel will show all 40 tournaments of the American PGA Tour live this year, as well as the DP World Tour – the official name of the European Tour.
In addition, Ziggo Sport will offer live coverage of the “Majors’, or four most important golf tournaments, this year. These will start with The Masters in Augusta, Georgia (April 6-9) and conclude with The Open in Hoylake/Liverpool (July 20-23).
Commenting on the rights, Marcel Beerthuizen, MD of Ziggo Sport, said: “Golf is an important sport in Ziggo Sport’s portfolio, for which we have even created our own channel: Ziggo Sport Golf. I am happy that we can let golf enthusiasts enjoy the best players and the most beautiful tournaments in the world. The highlight is the Ryder Cup that will be played in Rome this year. We pay a lot of attention to the Dutch contribution, including during the Dutch Open. Moreover, we work together with the Dutch Golf Federation to promote the sport”.
