United Media expands in Slovenia

November 29, 2022 09.54 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

United Media has become the majority owner of the Slovenian media company Adria Media Ljubljana.

According to United Media, which is part of United Group, this follows receiving the approval of the competent regulatory bodies allowing it to become the owner of 71% of Adria Media, a company that owns the most prestigious portals and printed editions in Slovenia.

Commenting on the development, Aleksandra Subotic, executive director of United Media, said: “I am very glad that we completed the takeover process and that Adria Media has become part of the United Media portfolio. They own the fastest growing digital portfolio, which is currently ranked third among all portals in Slovenia. We will continue to develop what is already a very successful business and through this partnership and new investments we will reach a new audience”.

According to the official measurements of the Slovenian MOSS (Slovenian Online Media Currency), Adria Media’s digital editions are the fourth publisher in the country and have a 52% reach on the Slovenian market.

United Media operates in eight countries in Southeast Europe. Its portfolio includes 58 television channels, 28 portals, six printed editions and five radio stations.
